Faith that works on a Monday morning

I write honest, practical Christian books for ordinary people living busy lives: parents and families, workers and business owners, sports people and leaders. True stories, plain words, and the timeless wisdom of the Bible for the places you actually spend your week.

Why I write

The Bible is more practical than most of us realise

Somewhere between work, school runs and weekend sport, it's easy for faith to become a Sunday thing, if we even make it to church. I know, because that's my life too.

When I started rediscovering God's Word, I was struck by how practical it is. It isn't just theology for scholars. It's wisdom for the office, the kitchen table, the change room and the boardroom: how to handle money, how to lead people, how to talk to your kids, what to do when someone hurts you, and how to keep going when life doesn't make sense.

My books gather that wisdom in plain words, with real stories that show it at work. They're written for people like me: people who love God, mean well, get it wrong often, and want their faith to make a real difference from Monday to Saturday too.

God's power shows up best in our weakness. The idea behind 2 Corinthians 12:9, and the reason an ordinary guy like me writes books at all.

I'm not a pastor or a theologian. I'm a husband and dad trying to live this out, one week at a time. Everything I write has to pass one test: would it actually help someone on a Monday morning?

About me

Hi, I'm William

I'm a devoted Christian, a husband, and a dad to three girls. I'm not a preacher or a scholar, just an ordinary man trying to follow Jesus in the middle of real life: work, school runs, weekend sport, bills, and never quite enough time.

I grew up in a Christian home, but there came a point as a young man when I had to decide for myself whether this faith was really mine. It was, and it still is.

My early years were spent working with the Big Five in nature conservation, and that's where my love for God's creation began. I still feel closest to Him outdoors, whether I'm hiking a trail, standing at the water with a fishing rod, or just sitting still and taking in the beauty He has made.

My faith has taken me to remote villages in Zambia, helping to put in water wells, build schools and churches, and share the love of Christ with the people living there. I've also travelled through the UK and Europe, from London, Scotland, Wales and Ireland to France and Germany, and I've served in my local church for many years.

Above all, I'm a big family man. Most weekends you'll find me on the sidelines of one sport or another, cheering on my girls, and I love a good game myself.

I've made plenty of mistakes along the way, and I'll tell you so. But I've learned that the Bible's simple rules of thumb hold true, even for people who don't always get them right.
